"Good Luck Beijing" road cycling race riders would compete along Olympic Route
“Good Luck Beijing” 2007 International Road Cycling Invitational Race will be held in Beijing on August 18 and 19. The race will be held along the route of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. All riders will be provided an excellent chance to get familiar with the Olympic Route. The leader of Chinese Cycling Team said they would cherish this opportunity to compete.
The tournament of men's group cycling starts from Yongdingmen, crosses Temple of Heaven, Tian’anmen Square, Lama Temple, Yuan Dadu Site and Olympic Tower, enter Badaling Highway and its auxiliary road via Northern 5th Ring Road and eventually reaches Juyongguan after four circles between Juyongguan and Badaling, ends at the Juyongguan Great Wall. The full length of the track and the riding distance are 102.6km.
The leader of Chinese Cycling Team Song Xiang said, “This road is hard to be blocked out, so this race is meaningful to our adoption to the Olympic route.”
In the competition, the Organizing Committee will take the dynamic way to block out the racing road. It means that the road will be blocked out 10 minutes before the cycling group arrived, and then open again after they leaved.
